About Polstead Football Club:
Polstead Football Club was formed in 1999. With the locals starting to frequent the Brewers Arms Pub in Polstead, conversation with the landlord Mitch one day turned to the subject of sponsorship and led to the club being given the chance to get a new kit bearing the pub's name.

Being the Secretary, Treasurer & Goalkeeper, I took on the task of finding a kit in these colours, but found no-one with those colours available locally or online, so took to sending a few hopeful emails.
All but one came back negative, with Will from Zapkam being the only person willing to 'give it a go'. A couple of emails and a swatch or two of cream material later and we decided to go ahead with the order.

Our team is a unified one with some players who have disabilities and/or supported learning needs, all living in the borough.
S.O.R.F.C. are one of the first Unified Special Olympics Football Teams in the London region. Now there are a number being formed and there is a proposed league being set up, so these are exciting times for us.
We have been fortunate in that a local college has allowed us to use their excellent facilities for training and friendly matches. Initially our results were not so good, but the regular training and bonding of the team has seen a great improvement. In one of our first matches, against a team affiliated to Brentford Football Club, we were defeated quite badly despite having better individual players.
I do not think it was to chance that they had a much superior kit to us. If two teams are evenly matched something like this can make all the difference.
At the presentation where some of the boys wore the kit, it was so clear how their self-esteem visibly grew and they were so keen on it that they kept asking if they could take home their individual shirts! I think there will have to be the introduction of a kit manager now. Hopefully it is clear how grateful we all are to you for the distinctive and excellent home and away kits. Also the speed and efficiency of everything."
